RULES CHANGES

NFBC owners who return in 2008 will notice a few rules changes from the previous season. They include:

1. Minimum innings pitched: The minimum innings pitched limit has been increased from 600 to 700 for the NFBC's Main Event, Ultimate Leagues, Auction Leagues and Satellite Leagues. If teams do not reach that minimum, they automatically earn just 1 point in ERA and WHIP. No other team in those leagues will move as a result of this, however.

2. September DL List: There will be no September DL list in the NFBC this year. If players eventually get hurt during the week and MLB teams do not officially put them on the DL list (which they don't in September), then you will not be allowed to move them out of your starting lineup on Friday.

3. Free agent lists in all NFBC leagues will be locked of new entries at 7 a.m. EST each Sunday. If a minor-league prospect gets called up to the majors after that, or even if he is added late on Saturday and not in the NFBC system before 7 that Sunday morning, he will not be eligible via free agency until the following week. No players will be added to any NFBC free agent list after 7 a.m. on Sunday.

4. The FAAB Sunday deadline has been moved from 7 p.m. EST to 8 p.m. EST for every NFBC league. STATS will run winning free agent bids for every league shortly after the 8 p.m. EST deadline each week.

5. Position eligibility rules have been tightened for better clarification on September callups and minor-league prospects who didn't play in the majors in 2007. Check out the rules page for clarification.

6. $1,250 Auction Leagues have been increased to $1,300 this year. Auction League payouts are now standard for all levels: 64% to first, 24% to second, 12% to third.
